"Can stick you in the ball bag in a scrum": Paul Bissonnette hails Ottawa Senators' newest signing Nick Cousins
The Ottawa Senators signed forward Nick Cousins to a one-year, $800,000 contract on Thursday. The 31-year-old Cousins is coming off winning the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last season.
Cousins earned a reputation early on as an agitator and reckless hitter. His physical style of play often crossed the line, leading to dangerous hits from behind and other questionable plays.
Former NHL enforcer Paul Bissonnette welcomed the Cousins signing in classic style, posting on X, formerly Twitter:
"Guy brings it every night just an absolute piece of shit to play against what a bargain for the Senators. Has offensive upside too. He can make plays or can stick you in the ball bag in a scrum. Gamer."
The Belleville, Ontario native has suited up for Philadelphia, Arizona, Montreal, Vegas, Nashville, and Florida over his 10-year career, compiling 180 points in 592 regular season games.
Last season, Nick Cousins scored seven goals and had eight assists, totaling 15 points in 69 regular-season games.
