Canucks' Tyler Myers dresses up as WNBA star Caitlin Clark, wife Michela as a basketball for Halloween

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers and his wife, Michela Gellert, had a fun Halloween costume this year. Myers shared a picture on his Instagram story with a pumpkin emoji for the holiday theme.

In the photo, Myers dressed as WNBA star Caitlin Clark. He wore a red “FEVER” basketball jersey with the number “22,” a black headband, white socks, and sneakers for a classic basketball player look.

Michela dressed as a giant orange basketball with “Wilson” written on the front. Myers placed his hand on her head while she was in her “basketball” costume, adding a playful touch to their matching outfits.

The Canucks are currently 5-2-3 and ranked third in the Pacific Division with 13 points. Myers has played all 10 games this season, contributing two assists and averaging 18:18 minutes on the ice per game. Over his NHL career, Myers has recorded 373 points in 1,005 games.

This Halloween post gave fans a look at Tyler Myers’ lighthearted side off the ice.

Canucks captain Quinn Hughes hails Tyler Myers as “the best”

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes helped celebrate teammate Tyler Myers’ 1,000th NHL game, which came against the Philadelphia Flyers. Before the Canucks faced the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday, they held a short ceremony honoring Myers’ career.

During the ceremony, Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin presented Myers with a silver stick. Hughes handed out miniature silver sticks to Myers’s three children, creating a special moment for the family. Myers’s close teammates - including Thatcher Demko, JT Miller, Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson, and Hughes - joined for a group photo.

Hughes also posted a simple tribute on Instagram, captioning a Canucks post with “one of the best” and a heart emoji.

To make the night even more special, Myers wore the alternate captain’s “A” on his jersey, which usually belongs to JT Miller. Miller had asked if Myers could wear it as a gesture of respect, and head coach Rick Tocchet approved. Tocchet called it a “great gesture” that showed the friendship between Miller and Myers, who both joined the Canucks in 2019.

Standing at 6-foot-8, Tyler Myers brings both size and skill to the Canucks’s defense. He has helped the team in keeping the blue line strong.
