"Dude give me a chance hahaha": Cody Glass claps back at a Penguins fan calling him a "scrub"

Cody Glass, who was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in August, had a simple response to a fan who called him a "scrub." The Penguins acquired Glass along with a 2025 third-round draft pick. They also received a 2026 sixth-round draft pick from the Nashville Predators. The pens exchanged forward, Jordan Frasca.

"Our team is burdened by large contracts for the old guys. Leaving not much room to fill in the team with scrubs. This guy is a scrub. Scrubs don't win anything," a Pens fan commented.

To which Glass replied:

"Dude give me a chance hahaha."

Some fans who took note of the nature of the comment by the fan for Cody Glass said:

"People write stupid stuff like athletes can not see them 🫥 they see more than people think," a fan said
"Idk if Glass has ever been given a real chance to play for an extended period of time. I hope he does well in Pitt," another fan responeded.

Throwback to Cody Glass' first hattrick, but he was surprised by crowds' response

In March, Cody Glass experienced a special moment after scoring his first career hat trick for the Nashville Predators in a 5-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. During a postgame interview with Bally Sports South, the crowd's cheers were so loud that Glass could barely hear himself speak.

"When I wanted to talk, I couldn't hear my own voice," Glass said, "I don't know if the video captures just how loud it actually was."

Glass paused during the interview to take in the overwhelming support, wiping away tears as the fans gave him a long-standing ovation.

"That was something I can't even dream up," Glass said. "Scoring a hat trick, I can dream up. But getting that kind of response from the crowd was well beyond anything ... That was cooler than scoring three goals, to be honest."

The interview quickly went viral, with over a million views across social media platforms. Kara Hammer, the reporter interviewing Glass, said the crowd kept getting louder, and the moment is one she will never forget.
