Hawks captain Nick Foligno doesn't mince his words about no-call on Vancouver Canucks too many men penalty

The Chicago Blackhawks fell 6-3 to the Vancouver Canucks at United Center on Tuesday night, their second consecutive loss. A controversial no-call on a potential Vancouver penalty stirred emotions after the game.

Foligno was upset over Vancouver's fourth goal scored while they had too many men on the ice. Review showed seven Canucks on the ice during Conor Garland's goal. Foligno did not hold back, saying:

"They screwed up. They know that. I just don't understand why they all were seeing it and they didn't want to call it at the time," Foligno said about the referees. "That was the only thing, and I just didn't like his response at the time. But he owned it after."

WGNRadio host Charlie Roumeliotis also agreed with Nick Foligno and shared the screen shot of the no-call.

Foligno was clearly frustrated by the missed call, which he believed swung the momentum of the game. The Blackhawks captain made his opinion clear as he called out the referees for what he felt was a blatant mistake at a critical point in the contest between the Blackhawks and Canucks.

Nick Foligno disappointed with Blackhawks' 6-3 loss to the Canucks

Nick Foligno voiced his disappointment with the team's performance, particularly in the opening minutes.

"Especially our line, we pride ourselves on starting on time, and we didn't get the job done on the first shift," Nick Foligno said. "It's disappointing on my end and just as a team because it sets the tone for a lot of the game. I didn't think we had any emotion after that."

Chicago got goals from Ryan Donato, Taylor Hall and Tyler Bertuzzi. Vancouver kept padding its lead thanks to Danton Heinen's two goals and additional tallies from J.T. Miller, Conor Garland, Quinn Hughes and Kiefer Sherwood.

Nick Foligno pinpointed defensive zone issues as a major problem for the Blackhawks. He said they were slow to pucks and failed to move the puck quickly on breakouts. When they did break out cleanly, Chicago generated scoring chances. But sloppy play in their own end proved costly.

At 2-4-1 on the young season, the Blackhawks next face the Nashville Predators on Friday.
