Connor McDavid says losing Cup Final will take time to get over

The Oilers rallied from being down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final to force a Game 7.

But, in Game 7, the Oilers lost 2-1 to lose the Stanley Cup Final. Although McDavid won the Conn Smythe as the playoff MVP, he says getting over the loss will take a while.

“It’ll take some time to get over, but at the end of the day, you are going to have to get over it at some point, and we’re going to carry on and get ourselves ready for another important season and get ourselves ready to do it all over again, and that’s all you can do,” McDavid said, via NHL.com.
“Will there be a time to look back? Yeah. There were lots of happy moments throughout those playoffs for sure, a lot of great moments that I’ll remember for the rest of my life."

In the Stanley Cup playoffs, McDavid led the NHL in scoring with eight goals and 34 assists for 42 points in 25 games. The forward also recorded 32 goals and 100 assists for 132 points in 76 regular-season games.
