One of the stories was originally posted by Rachel Yelena Gagner, wife of Oilers player Sam Gagner. Lauren shared a screenshot and showed herself getting ready for the bridal shower. She was seen having her makeup and hair done by an artist. By profession, Lauren is an interior designer who runs Kyle & Co. Design Studio in Edmonton.

Lauren announced the engagement in June 2022. She shared her happiness and excitement for their future together on Instagram.

"22.06.23 was the best day of my life. I cannot put into words how happy I am to be spending the rest of our lives together. Almost 8 years of growth, happiness and so much love and I can’t believe we have so much more to look forward to.," Lauren Kyle wrote.
"I knew you were my person from the day we met and I can’t wait for the beautiful life we are going to create together. Thank you for the most thoughtful, picture perfect proposal that I could never have imagined. I love you more than anything."

Connor McDavid won Conn Smythe Trophy despite Stanley Cup loss to Panthers

A few days ago, the Edmonton Oilers almost won the Stanley Cup. They forced a Game 7 after losing three games to the Florida Panthers. A win would have been huge for the Oilers. It would have made captain Connor McDavid's wedding year even more special.

However, the Oilers lost 2-1 to Florida in Game 7. Despite this, McDavid won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. He scored 42 points, just five shy of Wayne Gretzky's record set in 1985. McDavid is the second skater to win the Conn Smythe on a team that lost in the final, after Reggie Leach in 1976.

Despite not winning the Stanley Cup, Connor McDavid set new records in his first finals appearance. He scored four points in two consecutive Stanley Cup finals games.
