Jack Campbell and Ashley Sonnenberg were engaged amid AHL demotion
Jack Campbell's wife Ashley Sonnenberg, is from Vancouver, British Columbia. She's a Partner Account Leader at PointClickCare and graduated from Western University in 2019. They got engaged on June 24, 2022.
Campbell faced challenges after signing a five-year deal with the Oilers in the summer of 2022. He was expected to be Edmonton’s starting goalie but struggled and lost the starter’s job to Stuart Skinner. Campbell was then demoted to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors and bought out by the Oilers before free agency.
Ashley moved to Bakersfield in December, bringing their two dogs, Huey (a Bernese Mountain dog-golden retriever mix) and Millie (a golden retriever). They rented a house while their two cats stayed in Edmonton with house-sitters.
Jack and Ashley got married after a two-year engagement. Despite the challenges the couple faced, Campbell found respite after finding a new NHL home with the Detroit Red Wings.
