Patrik Laine's fiancee Jordan Leigh expresses elation in 2 words after Habs forward scores 3rd goal to complete hat trick

Habs forward Patrik Laine dropped a masterclass on Tuesday night as he scored a hat trick to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a dominant 6-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. His fiancée, Jordan Leigh, was present at Bell Center and cheered for him along with thousands of fans in the arena.

The game started in Montreal's favor just 19 seconds in, as Joel Armia capitalized on a lucky bounce off an official’s skate to beat Buffalo goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. A few minutes later, Laine appeared to double the lead, but his shot, which seemed to go inside the post, was ruled no goal after a video review.

Laine eventually found the back of the net at 6:26 of the first period, converting a cross-slot feed from Nick Suzuki. This goal made him the second player in Canadiens history to score his first four goals for the team on the power play, joining Mark Recchi.

Jordan Leigh took to Instagram to share her excitement after his first goal. She posted a clip of the following moments after his goal and wrote:

Buffalo showed signs of life early in the second period when Dylan Cozens scored to make it 2-1 at 3:43. However, Juraj Slafkovsky restored the two-goal lead for the Habs by banking a shot off Luukkonen just over two minutes later.

Midway through the second period, Laine struck twice in a span of 70 seconds, both of which were one-timers. After the second goal, Leigh posted a clip of the moment Liane celebrated with the Habs bench.

“Goal 2 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒,” she wrote.

Josh Anderson then capped the scoring with 45 seconds left in the second period.

Coach Martin St. Louis heaps praise on Patrik Laine

Patrik Laine’s spectacular night marked his 11th career hat trick and first with the Canadiens. Despite returning from a knee injury earlier this season, Laine now looks to be in solid form. The three goals on the night have taken his season total to six in just seven games.

During the postgame interview, Habs coach Martin St. Louis was asked about the forward’s passion for the team. In response, St. Louis heaped praise on Liane.

“We were talking about passion [for the game] this morning, I think that answered it right there,” St. Louis said. “When a player has that love, that passion, they're going to work a lot harder at it. They're going to commit to everything.”

Patrik Liane’s performance moved him into third place among Finnish-born players for career hat tricks, trailing only legends Jari Kurri (23) and Teemu Selanne (22).

Meanwhile, the Canadiens snapped a two-game losing streak with their win over Buffalo. Up next, they face the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.
