"Penguins need to sign him for one last game": Hockey fans react to 52-year-old Jaromir Jagr reportedly retiring from pro hockey

NHL fans were sad to learn that legend Jaromir Jagr will reportedly retirie from pro hockey soon. As per his agent, Jagr will play his final season of pro hockey in the Czech Extraliga and will retire when it ends.

Jagr has been playing pro hockey since the 1988-89 season and has spent the last eight years playing for Kladno, which is the pro hockey team he owns.

At age 52, Jagr will be suiting up for his final season, a development that made hockey fans sad.

"The most underrated first ballot hall of fame player in any sport. He is constantly looked over. And his numbers were dumbed down in his prime because of how the league was played," a fan wrote.
"Here’s to the Mullet King!," a fan added.

Jagr played 24 years in the NHL and is a future Hall of Famer.

"Pittsburgh needs to sign for one game," a fan added.
"If scheduling works out, Penguins should sign him to a 1 day deal just so it can be full circle. First ballot HOF for sure," a fan added.

As per few fans, Pittsburgh needs to sign him to a one-day contract so Jagr can retire as a Penguin.

"There will never be another Jaromir Jagr. The Best There Ever Was," a fan wrote.
"Jagr feels like he could play pro hockey forever. If this is his last year, I’m in utter disbelief," a fan added.

Last season, Jagr skated in 15 games with Kladno recording zero goals and four assists.

Penguins retired Jaromir Jagr's jersey number last season

The Pittsburgh Penguins retired Jaromir Jagr's No. 68 on Feb. 18. Jagr played 11 years in Pittsburgh. Despite spending 13 years elsewhere in the NHL, Jagr said everyone considered him to be a Penguin.

“There’s no question about it,” Jagr said, via NHL.com. “When you ask anybody, I think would say in the world, in Czech or in Europe, and when you say Jaromir Jagr, they’re going to say Pittsburgh Penguins no matter where I played after that.”

In his NHL career, Jagr skated in 1,733 games, recording 766 goals and 1,155 assists for 1,921 points.
