The Avengers and HIMYM star Cobie Smulders reveals her favorite Vancouver Canucks player

Cobie Smulders may be a world-class actress, but she is also a big fan of the Vancouver Canucks. She was born in Vancouver and grew up a hockey player. In a recent interview, 'The Avengers star' revealed her love of the team and who her favorite player is.

"Such a bunch of cuties. Yes! Quinn Hughes, I think is obvious. I've met quite a few of the players. They all just work so hard. When you have a bit of connection to the actual humans and the people and the team, the coaches and people running the team, you're just much more emotionally invested. I think they got so far and did so well, that's just how it rolls. I'm very proud of them," Smulders said via Daily Hive Vancouver.

The Canucks won 50 games last season, recording 109 points. They ended up losing in the second round of the NHL playoffs to the Edmonton Oilers, who went on to lose in seven games to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

Vancouver Canucks GM talks awards, 2023 season

A big reason the Vancouver Canucks were good last season and made it to the second round of the playoffs is because of the work GM Patrik Allvin did in the front office. He built a great team and was voted GM of the Year for it.

He talked about the success of the Canucks and also discussed the award via Canucks Army:

“Of course, I was happy. It’s the league’s other general managers who vote. I believe all individual awards come when the team is doing well. It’s the team’s results that drive individuals. I’m glad to be part of the team. The players, coaches, and my staff have made it possible for me to be nominated… It was certainly a great honor to be nominated for such a prestigious award, especially considering the other candidates who were also nominated.”

Allvin acknowledged everyone who worked hard to establish a style and identity for the organization, something that he believes will benefit the Canucks for years to come as they continue to build a Stanley Cup Final winner.
