Hockey fans were treated to a fun juggling act at a barbecue hosted by Flyers mascot Gritty. B/R Open Ice shared the event's video on X (formerly Twitter), featuring Flyers players Jamie Drysdale and Cam York. In the video, Gritty, the seven-foot-tall orange mascot with funny googly eyes, showed off his juggling skills.
Drysdale and York were comfortably seated and were seen to be enjoying the show. Gritty’s juggling was concluded with him catching the pancake in his mouth, which amused the players.
It started on Sep. 24, 2018, and is associated with funny dancing and high fives. Designed by Brian Allen and David Raymond, Gritty is still beloved by fans during Philadelphia games, both home and away.

Chuck Fletcher joins Devils as senior advisor after Flyers stint
Chuck Fletcher is joining the New Jersey Devils as a senior advisor to manager Tom Fitzgerald. Fletcher previously worked with the Devils in 2018-19. He later became the Flyers' manager but was fired in March 2023.
His time with the Philadelphia included a playoff series win in 2019-20, but the team faced struggles afterward, leading to a four-year playoff drought. The Devils will play the Flyers four times this season, including three games in January.
