Oilers' Warren Foegele was handed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for his knee-on-knee collision with Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen. Around the 11-minute mark of the first period of Game 2, Luostarinen was looking to pass around the puck while in the Oilers' zone, and Foegele skated into Luostarinen and the heavy impact was on the Panthers forward's knee.
Post the hit, Warren Foegele was flooded by angry Panthers players while Lostarinen laid motionless on the ice. While the Panthers medical staff tended to him, Oilers and Panthers players got into a scrum, in retaliation to Foegele's hit.
Luostarinen eventually got up but limped out on his way to the Panthers dressing room. The referees reviewed the play and Warren Foegele was handed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for the hit.
The Oilers were put on a five-minute penalty kill and lost one player from their rotation for the remainder of Game 2.
