"We believe in you" - Sabres owner Terry Pegula hypes up team during Montreal visit after 10th straight loss

Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula made a surprise visit to Montreal today to deliver a message to his players, general manager, and head coach before Tuesday night's matchup with the Canadiens.

According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, Pegula expressed faith in GM Kevin Adams, and head coach Lindy Ruff, telling the players to not expect a big trade anytime soon.

Pegula said:

"We believe in you. The solution is within this room".

Speculation ran wild after Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman noted that Pegula would be visiting the team in Montreal in Monday's edition of "32 Thoughts: The Podcast". Friedman said:

"I think in Buffalo there's a rumour going around that Terry Pegula may be going to Montreal to meet the team on Monday".

Friedman added:

"And that means to me one of two things, either Kyle, he's making changes, or he's saying that this is the group and this is who we're going with".

The reasoning for Pegula's visit to meet with the team is now clear. Pegula who also owns the Buffalo Bills, has owned the Sabres since 2011 and has yet to witness an NHL playoff game in Buffalo.

Despite Terry Pegula's message, future remains unclear for Buffelo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres are currently in the midst of a 10-game winless streak, going 0-7-3 during that stretch. Despite Pegula's message of faith in the players, coaches, and management, rumors are still swirling about the potential for big changes.

Elliotte Friedman also threw out a blockbuster trade proposal on Monday morning during "32 Thoughts: The Podcast":

"I want to stress this is purely in my head, who says no? [Dylan] Cozens and Bowen [Byram] for [Elias] Pettersson?".

Dylan Cozens, a 23-year-old center, and Bowen Byram, a 23-year-old defenseman are two of many Sabres that have been thrown into the rumor mill in recent weeks.

While owner Terry Pegula has assured them that no big trades will be happening, speculation will only continue to grow should the Sabres struggles persist.

All the Sabres can do for now is attempt to quiet the noise by snapping their winless streak Tuesday night when they'll face the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET.
