Oilers lineup tonight: Edmonton's projected lineup for game against Senators | Dec. 22, 2024
The Edmonton Oilers (20-11-2) will put their two-game winning streak to the test against the red-hot Ottawa Senators (17-13-2) in an all-Canadian matchup on Sunday night at Rogers Place.
Both teams will be on the second night of a back-to-back, with Edmonton coming off a 3-2 comeback overtime win to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday afternoon.
The Oilers have been climbing up the standings after a slow start to the season, going 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. The recent surge has Edmonton up to third place (42 points) in the Pacific division, behind just the LA Kings (43 points) and Vegas Golden Knights (45 points). Meanwhile, Ottawa's winning streak has them in the second wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference.
Evander Kane remains the only notable injury absence from Edmonton's lineup. Radio color commentator Bob Stauffer recently mentioned that Kane won't return until March at the earliest.

Odds for the Senators vs. Oilers matchup and Edmonton's upcoming schedule
The Oilers are the favorite for the game against the Senators. Despite Ottawa's strong play lately, Edmonton's firepower still favors them.
On the FanDuel Sportsbook, Edmonton is a -166 favorite whereas Ottawa is a +138 underdog. Should these lines remain until puck-drop, a $166 wager on the Oil could cash in $100. Conversely, a $100 bet on the Sens could win $138.
After the conclusion of tonight's game, the Oilers will have five days off for the Christmas break. They will then return to action out west as they make a road trip to face the Kings in LA on Saturday (Dec. 28), followed by the Ducks in Anaheim on Sunday (Dec. 29).
Edmonton finishes their 2024 schedule at home against the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday (Dec. 31).
