14-year-old Gold Medalist Arisa Trew reveals what her parents promised her if she won a gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024
Arisa Trew has disclosed what she wanted her parents to get her if she won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Trew put in the work and eventually emerged as the champion in the women's Skateboard Park event.
With her win, Trew became the youngest Australian to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 14. She stood out with 93.18 points, beating Kokona Hiraki and Sky Brown in second and third place respectively with 92.63 and 92.31 points.
After claiming the gold medal, Trew revealed that her parents promised to get her a pet duck. The four-time X champion added that if she gets the pet duck from her parents, she will take it for walks and go with it to the skatepark.
Arisa Trew claimed that her mother was initially hesitant about getting her the pet but her father was in on it since the first day.
"The gift I asked my parents if I had like won was if I could get a pet duck because ducks are really cute and I wanted a pet duck. My mum said yes but my dad’s been saying yes, this whole time but my mum was saying no," Trew said in an interview with Fox Sports Australia.
"But then like I said if I did win could I get a duck and she said yes. I’m going to take the duck to the skatepark as well and take it on a walk. I’m not sure yet but in another interview, I got a good suggestion of Goldie," she added.

Arisa Trew became the youngest Australian to win the Olympic gold medal and she expressed shock and excitement towards making such a huge milestone.
As quoted by Guardian Sport, Trew was in awe of her performance, pointing out that she was not nervous during the event at the Paris Olympics.
The Japanese-Australian athlete was excited to represent the two nationalities, lauding the Japanese skaters for their prowess.
"It was just crazy, and so exciting I couldn’t believe it when I knew that I was the winner of the Olympics. This being my first Olympics – it’s just insane. I wasn’t nervous – I just needed to think it was another skate comp and have fun with all my friends and skate my best. All I wanted to do was land a solid run," Trew said.
"My Mum is Japanese and I love Japan and all the Japanese skaters are crazy good. It’s super cool that I’ve won the gold medal – it’s been a dream, I’m so excited," she added.
In her opening run, Trew set up a stunning 90.11, closely behind leader Kokona Hiraki and Sky Brown who had 91.98 and 91.60 respectively. In their final round, Arisa Trew put up a good fight to emerge on top with 93.18 points.
