During the Paris Olympics, Katie Grimes will become the first American athlete to compete in pool and open water swimming in the same edition of the quadrennial event. She will compete in the women's 400m individual medley, 1500m freestyle, and open water 10km swimming events.
Grimes boasts three Olympic silver medals and a World Championship (LC) bronze so far in her career. Her impressive haul includes two silvers in the 400m medley (2022 & 2023), a silver in the 1500m freestyle (2022), and a World Championship bronze in the 10km open water (2023).
#4 Thomas Heilman
Thomas Heilman, a three-time Junior Pan Pacific Championships gold medalist, will make his first appearance at the Olympics in Paris. He qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 in both 100m and 200m butterfly with his impressive performances at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.
The 17-year-old is one of the youngest members of the USA contingent that will be featuring at the Paris Olympics. Heilman was a member of the men's 4x100m medley relay team that won gold at the 2023 World Championships (LC), although he only featured in the heats.
#3 Jack Alexy
Jack Alexy is another swimmer from the United States to watch out for at the Paris Olympics 2024. The 21-year-old will represent the USA in the 100m freestyle and freestyle relay events at his first Olympic Games.
Alexy delivered a standout performance at the Olympic Swimming Trials, where he smashed the U.S. Open record in the 100m freestyle during the heats of the event, clocking a time of 47.08s. Alexy has won five medals at the World Championships (LC), which includes one gold, three silver, and one bronze.

Carson Foster will enter the Paris Olympics as a medal contender in the 200m and 400m individual medley events. Having won one gold, five silver, and two bronze medals at the World Championships (LC), Foster has already established himself as a force to be reckoned with.
Foster, the 22-year-old, will be determined to extend his dominance with medal-winning performances at the Paris Olympics.
#1 Nic Fink
Nic Fink managed to get onto the American Olympic team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, following attempts to compete for the country in the 2012 and 2016 games. Unfortunately, though, he couldn't bag a medal after placing fifth in the men's 200m breaststroke.
However, this time Fink is a huge favorite to win a medal in the event in Paris as the reigning world champion in the men's 100m breaststroke. Some of Fink's top accomplishments include being a six-time and seven-time gold medalist at the World Championships long course and short course, respectively.
