Graced by thousands of athletes around the world, the 2024 Paris Olympics is in full flow at the French capital. However, amid these sporting festivities and adrenaline rush, the event is under scrutiny for the food it's serving to its participants at the Olympic Village.
Even though the organizing committee of the Paris event has hired a reputed catering company, Sodexo, to cater food to athletes around the globe, various athletes such as Hezly Rivera and Aleah Finnegan have not been too satisfied with the quality.

#5 Hezly Rivera
A gold medal-winning US Women's gymnastics team member, Hezly Rivera, recently shared her verdict over the food served at the Olympic Village. In an interview with The Star, Rivera stated that the food in the dining hall of the Village is not at all good.
"I don’t think it’s very good, at least what we’re having in the dining hall," she said.
However, the 16-year-old also said during her interview that the traditional French food in the city is quite good.
#4 Aleah Finnegan
The 21-year-old Filipino gymnast, Aleah Finnegan, also shared her experiences with the food in the Olympic Village in a TikTok video she uploaded recently. In the video, Finnegan complained that the food provided to the athletes in the Village was not properly seasoned.
She said:
"Honestly, the food here, it’s good, it’s not really ... seasoned. Personal preference, that’s me."
#3 Raven Saunders
Raven Saunders, a shot put track and field athlete from North Carolina, United States, expressed her dissatisfaction with the quality of food at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Saunders shared a dissatisfactory reaction to an unknown dish served to her in the Village in her TikTok video.
"You disappointed me," she added in the background.
#2 Abbey Weitzeil
Abby Weitzeil, who was a part of the 4x100m freestyle US Women's team that won the silver medal at the French capital, has snubbed the food of the Olympic Village and has taken to the roof of their building to cook her meals. She was also joined by Phoebe Bacon (21-year-old American swimmer).
Weitzeil can be heard saying in her TikTok video:
"Come with us to get creative with our lunch today. Because we can’t get ourselves to go into the dining hall today."
#1 Thomas Ceccon
Thomas Ceccon, who recently clinched the gold medal in the Men's 100m Backstroke event, is also among the athletes who seem unhappy with the food of the Olympic Village.
He told one of the Italian broadcasters:
"In the Village there is no air conditioning. It’s hot. The food is bad."
