Alica Schmidt expresses anticipation for '2025' as she trains in rainy conditions
German track and field athlete Alica Schmidt was recently spotted in her training sessions amid rain. This comes just a few months before the start of the 2025 season.
Schmidt has been busy in various types of training such as high altitude and indoor sessions in the recent weeks. Notably, the rainy weather also failed to stop the 26-year-old's training regime.
Schmidt took to her Instagram handle to post a story in which she could be seen running in the rainy conditions on a wet track. In the video, the 26-year-old could be seen donning an olive track jacket and complementing it with black pants, pink shoes and black gloves. She also added the song 'Woops' by Renowned in the background.

Schmidt competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics where she raced in the 4x400m mixed and women's 4x400m relays. The German athlete recently announced her decision to change her specialization event from the 400m to 800m.

Alica Schmidt opened up about the suport she has received from the fans over the years. This came just a few days after her campaign at the 2024 quadrennial games.
In an interview, Schmidt stated that she is quite content with the supporters she has made in her journey. The German athlete also mentioned that she is not here to prove anything to any outside people, and is just focused on proving to herself. She said (via Olympics.com):
"I think you just have to let the people talk whenever they want to. There are always people who judge you. That's part of the game and I'm happy that I have so many supporters along the way. I'm so, so grateful for that. I don't feel like I have to prove anything to anyone. It's just for me. I just want to prove myself that I'm worth it. "
Schmidt performed quite well in the 2024 season, taking podium finishes in the 400m event at the German Championships, German Indoor Championships, and ISTAF Berlin. She will hope to make the Germany roster for the 2025 World Athletics Championships that will take place in September.
