Find out who qualified for the women

All the athletes who qualified for the Paris Olympics women's 100m final ft. Sha'carri Richardson, Twanisha Terry

The women's 100m semifinals at the Paris Olympics are done, and fans finally know the eight sprinters who will line up on the tracks of Stade De France as they bid for Olympic glory. America was the standout nation in the semis, with three of its athletes making it to the finals.

Getting Team USA off to a strong start on Saturday, August 3 was Melissa Jefferson. The two-time relay World Champion is making her Olympic debut and didn't disappoint, charging ahead to a time of 10.99 seconds, making her the only sprinter in her semifinal (SF No.1) to breach the 11-second mark. Behind her, former World Championship silver medalist Marie Jose Ta Lou-Smith finished second, clocking an 11.01s.

The second semifinals of the women's 100m at the Paris Olympics was perhaps the most anticipated, originally meant to feature the trio of Jamaican legend Shelly Anne Fraiser-Pryce, American World Champion Sha'Carri Richardson, and 60m World Champion Julien Alfred.

However, Fraiser-Pryce opted out of the race, leaving Richardson and Alfred to battle it out amongst themselves. While the former was the favorite to cross the finish line first, it was the young Saint Lucian who shone through, capitalizing on an impeccable start to storm the finish in 10.84s.

Behind her, despite a weak outing from the blocks, Sha'Carri Richardson closed in on her 23-year-old rival in the last few meters, finishing with a respectable time of 10.89s.

The third semifinals of the women's 100m saw a zoned-in Tia Clayton clock a time of 10.89, looking effortless while doing so. Clayton’s performance ensures that Jamaica has at least one sprinter in the finals of the women's 100m at the Paris Olympics.

Britain's Daryll Neita came in second in semifinal three, with a 10.97 that made her one of five women today to dip under the 11-second mark.

Outside of the six sprinters who topped their respective semifinals, Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundji and America's Twanisha Terry also made it through the finals based on their times, stopping the clock at 11.05 and 11.07 respectively.

The women's 100m finals at the Paris Olympics is scheduled to begin at 3:20 PM ET, and fans in America can catch Sha'Carri Richardson in action on NBC, NBC's Peacock, or the USA Network.

While Richardson goes into the race as the reigning World Champion, she will certainly have her work cut out for her as she lines up at Stade de France. The American will need to make a better start in the final than she's had to her heats and semifinals if she hopes to keep the likes of Julien Alfred and Tia Clayton at bay.
