Caeleb Dressel opens up about the contrast between swimming and parenting
Before the Paris Olympics, Caeleb Dressel opened up about the contrast between swimming and parenting. In an interview with Olympics.com in July 2024, the 28-year-old spoke on how swimming training can be repetitive, while parenting is unpredictable, as each child’s needs can be different, adding:
“I think the most obvious example was, if you read any article or any book, it says to swaddle a newborn baby. But August hated it. So we just went against what everything said. And we left his arms out and he started sleeping a lot better after that. So yeah, I think just working together with Meghan and trying our best to figure out what August needs - he can't talk. So, it's a tough one trying to figure out what he needs.”
The couple welcomed their baby boy, August, into the world on February 17. He weighed 8 lbs, 10 oz, and measured 21 1/2 inches in length.
