Caeleb Dressel and wife Meghan reveal gender of their second child

Caeleb Dressel and his wife Meghan recently revealed the gender of their second child following their public announcement of the pregnancy about a month ago. Notably, Caeleb and Meghan had their first baby, a son named August, in February of this year.

Through a joint Instagram post, Caeleb and Meghan revealed that they were expecting a baby girl following the gender reveal party. In an outdoor setting with a decorated Christmas tree, the couple opened a white box that released pink balloons, revealing the gender not only to the parents but also to the family members present.

Following this, Meghan posted a video of the gender reveal ceremony on Instagram, showing her excitement as she captioned the post:

“BABY DRESSEL #2 IS A…… GIRL!!!😭🎀🌸🥹💖🌷🩰🩷 We are so, so excited to welcome our little lady 🤍”

Following the announcement, prominent names like Katie Ledecky, Torri Huske, and Katie Hoff Anderson sent congratulatory messages and hearts.

On November 27, the couple, who were high school sweethearts before getting married, shared ultrasound images of their second baby on Instagram, with the caption:

“OOPS! We did it again 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️ We are overjoyed to share our family is growing again🥰 Baby Dressel #2 coming in June!🤍 2 under 2 here we go😆”

Since his appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the nine-time Olympic gold medalist Caeleb Dressel has skipped multiple events, including the World Cup and Short Course World Championships, opting to spend time with his wife and son while embracing his fatherly duties.

Before the Paris Olympics, Caeleb Dressel opened up about the contrast between swimming and parenting. In an interview with Olympics.com in July 2024, the 28-year-old spoke on how swimming training can be repetitive, while parenting is unpredictable, as each child’s needs can be different, adding:

“I think the most obvious example was, if you read any article or any book, it says to swaddle a newborn baby. But August hated it. So we just went against what everything said. And we left his arms out and he started sleeping a lot better after that. So yeah, I think just working together with Meghan and trying our best to figure out what August needs - he can't talk. So, it's a tough one trying to figure out what he needs.”

The couple welcomed their baby boy, August, into the world on February 17. He weighed 8 lbs, 10 oz, and measured 21 1/2 inches in length.
