Carlos Yulo set to receive luxurious condo as prize following historic gold medal win at Paris Olympics 2024

Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo is set to receive a luxurious condo following his historic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024. Yulo became the first ever gymnast from the Philippines to win a medal at the Olympics.

The 24-year-old also became the second-ever Filipino to win a gold medal at the Olympics, following weightlifter Hidiliyn Diaz's triumph at the Tokyo Olympics. Yulo scored 15.000 points in the floor final, finishing ahead of Tokyo 2021 winner, Israel's Artem Dolgopyat by .034 points. Great Britain's Jake Jarman finished third, scoring .067 points less than Yulo.

Filipino gold medal winners at the Paris Olympics 2024 have been promised fully-furnished two-bedroom condos at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The Megaworld president Lourdes T-Gutierez said in a statement (via ABS-CBN):

"This 2024, we are celebrating our 100th year of participating in the Olympic games, and what a way to celebrate this milestone than by recognizing the superb competitive spirit of our newest Olympic gold medalist and welcoming them to McKinley Hill."

He added:

"As one of the most celebrated addresses in Fort Bonifacio, McKinley Hill is home to several world-class athletes, including members of the Philippine national teams for Basketball and Football. This makes it a perfect home for Filipino champions who live a life of passion and excellence through and through."

Carlos Yulo was visibly emotional and broke down in tears following his gold medal feat at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Following his stunning Paris Olympics 2024 triumph in men's floor gymnastics, Carlos Yulo commented that winning the gold medal is his biggest achievement.

Yulo credited those who helped him along his journey to achieve this success. The Filipino gymnast said (via Reuters):

"It's just a bonus for me, and this is what [medal] really matters. My hard work and the people who really helped me. I know my success is also their success. I'm happy that I won gold and I also won a house."

Carlos Yulo trained in Japan for seven years due to a lack of facilities in the Philippines. He hopes that gymnastics will grow in the country following his win at the Paris Olympics 2024, and it works as a door opener for Filipino athletes on the world stage.
