David Taylor reflects on his team's growth and improvement
David Taylor spoke with Pistols Firing on December 17, just before the Cowboys' victory over Virginia Tech. He emphasized the importance of continuous improvement throughout the season.
While December results are valuable, the gold medalist noted they are part of the broader process with the ultimate focus on larger objectives, such as national championships later in the year. He said:
"I think it's something that you even have to think about with this group. I think it's something that you always remind guys of, but I don't think anyone's goal is to anything in December, this is just part of a bigger process. These are steps along the way and each week we're just trying to be better than the week that we were before. It's nice because, every time that we wrestle we can come back and can make adjustments we can think about."
In the interview, the wrestling champion also discussed key aspects of the team's preparation leading to an important duel. He highlighted the significance of clear communication within the coaching staff and between coaches and athletes. He revealed his excitement about the team's growth and the ongoing adjustments to coaching strategies aimed at helping athletes reach their full potential.
