“Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost is covering surfing events at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Did “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost get hurt covering the Paris Olympics? All about the American host's experience at the quadrennial games

The “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost sustained a foot injury while reporting surfing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The comedian and writer is covering the surfing events at the Paris Games, taking place on Teahupoʻo island in the Pacific Ocean.

Jost has been a writer for NBC's "Saturday Night Live” since 2005. Jost, a passionate surfer, is reporting on the surfing events from the French Polynesian island. However, the 42-year-old ended up with a minor injury during the process.

He took to social media to inform the fans about the injury, sharing the news with a touch of humor. Jost posted a picture of his foot, wherein three of his five toes can be seen wrapped in bandages.

"You know it’s going great when you’ve been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes," wrote Jost.

This was not Jost's first injury since his arrival on the island. Three days ago, he suffered small injuries to his toes while exploring the Teahupoʻo reef on the Tahitian island.

"This might ruin my WikiFeet score but I just arrived in Tahiti for the surfing Olympics and the reef was excited to greet me," he wrote while sharing the picture of his foot.

However, the two setbacks have not interrupted his enthusiasm as the comedian-writer was seen covering the sport with the same spirit. He shared a picture of himself before the commencement of the event and expressed a humorous take:

"Olympic surfing about to start here in Tahiti," he wrote. "I’m ready if needed. Team USA already passed on me. Willing to defect to other countries."

The Fly Me To The Moon actress appeared on The Today Show and revealed how Jost earned the opportunity to be on the Tahitian island of Teahupoʻo for two weeks during the Games. While acknowledging her husband's passion for surfing, she said she was thrilled to learn about his role in France.

“I’m like, how did he get this gig," Johansson said.“When they announced the Paris Olympics, he immediately found out that they were doing the surf competition in Tahiti, which is so cool. He loves to surf, we have a place in Montauk, he’s always out there surfing,”
“And somehow the dream became a reality," she added.

The surfing event at the Paris Olympics 2024 is slated from July 27 to August 5, 2024.
