"Every time the app beeps... Stephen’s like 'Eat sugar'" – DWTS' Rylee Arnold reveals how Stephen Nedoroscik helps her manage her Type 1 Diabetes

Rylee Arnold shared how her dance partner, Stephen Nedoroscik, has been helping her manage Type 1 Diabetes on Dancing with the Stars. The pair reached the semifinals on the 500th episode of Dancing with the Stars in its 33rd season.

Nedoroscik is coming off two bronze medal wins at the 2024 Paris Olympics, one in pommel horse and one in the all-around US team event. He is currently participating in DWTS and partnered with Arnold, the American professional Latin and ballroom dancer.

During an interview with Women's Health magazine in November 2024, Arnold shared how her dance partner, the two-time Olympic medalist, supports her in managing her blood sugar levels. She said:

"Every time the app beeps to let me know my blood sugar is low, Stephen's like, Eat sugar."

She also shared her routine as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars. Arnold added that she carefully manages her blood sugar levels, especially during live television shows, as low or high sugar directly affects her performance.

In an interview with The Squeeze in July 2024, Arnold spoke about her condition:

"One day I'm going to be a voice for so many people, and if I do get to be on Dancing with the Stars one day, I can open my platform and tell people of my diagnosis and like inspire someone who goes to the hospital and gets diagnosed." (8:21 onwards)

Stephen Nedoroscik praised Arnold's performance after the 500th Dancing with the Stars episode. He showed his appreciation on Instagram, spotlighting her talent and hard work.

Nedoroscik wrote:

"The 500th episode was an unforgettable night!! Rylee and I put in so much work into this dance, and to hear how much it touched people means everything to me. All the credit goes to Rylee, she really is the best. I'm so grateful to have such an amazing dance partner by my side".

"Reimagining @markballas and @charlidamelio's Viennese Waltz was a daunting task, and I just hope they enjoyed our performance and we were able to make them proud. I’m beyond excited, and blessed, to continue this journey, thank you to everyone who continues to support us," he added.

On the 500th episode, couples were assigned songs and dance styles just minutes before the competition. Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold danced to "Love is Embarrassing" by Olivia Rodrigo, showcasing their talent in last-minute dance challenges. Nedoroscik and Arnold scored 54/60, securing third place in the competition.
