Gabby Thomas in splits after fan calls Donald Trump 'unstoppable' in response to sprinter's inspiring message

Gabby Thomas shared a hilarious message when a fan claimed US President Donald Trump remained resilient in his run for a second term in the White House, thereby making him unstoppable. The American sprinter is one of the fastest women in history and won three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Thomas shared an inspiring message on her X handle on Tuesday, claiming that building resilience made people unstoppable.

"When you build resilience, you become unstoppable!!!," the sprinter wrote

A user linked the quote to Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign where the US President faced assassination attempts and claimed that the 78-year-old had already proved the sprinter's theory.

"Trump proved that. They tried everything but he was unstoppable," they wrote

Thomas, who did a hilarious lip sync to Trump's "They're eating the dogs" comment last year, was in splits over the fan's comment.

"why are yall like this 😂😂😂," she wrote

The five-time Olympic medalist was also asked about how her secret to building resilience, and she happily answered.

"consistency, staying committed, reframing how you think about things," Gabby Thomas said

Thomas' own journey since turning professional has been of resilience and determination. The 28-year-old faced a tumor scare just before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and while it turned out to be benign, she failed to deliver big at the Games.

The Harvard graduate suffered a hamstring pull in 2022 and failed to qualify for the 2022 World Champions. Though she won a silver in the 200m at the following year's edition in Budapest, a gold was still missing before the American sprinter turned 'unstoppable' at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"It’s a culmination of just years of making the right choice over and over again" - Gabby Thomas after winning three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Gabby Thomas was clinical in the 200m finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, clocking 21.83s for a comfortable victory over the 100m Olympic champion Julien Alfred. She was the first American woman to win the 200m Olympic title since 2012 and went on to add two more gold medals to her name in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Speaking in an interview with Olympics.com, the 28-year-old said her success was the culmination of years of hard work and making the right choices again and again.

“I’ve grown so much as an athlete since Tokyo,” said Thomas, who won the 200m bronze there. “It’s all part of this process and this grand play of working my way up to be a gold medallist, and then, just going for it and taking that opportunity and doing it.
“It all kind of made sense, it’s a culmination of just years, months, weeks, days and minutes of making the right choice over and over again so I can have the opportunity for gold.”

However, the three-time Olympic champion is still missing the 200m world title and would be eager to win it at the 2025 World Championships, which are set to take place in Tokyo, Japan from September 13-21.
