"Great meet to finish off the season" - Femke Bol expresses joy after winning her 4th consecutive Diamond League Trophy in Brussels

Femke Bol recently expressed satisfaction and joy after earning her fourth consecutive Diamond League Final trophy in Brussels. The sprinter has managed to clinch the gold in the women's 400m hurdles events since 2021.

Her most recent victory came after registering a striking time of 52.45 seconds, a new meeting record. Bol defeated 2024 Paris Olympics silver medalist Anna Cockrell and Jamaica's Shiann Salmon, who clocked 53.71 and 53.99 seconds, respectively.

Her win streak at the Diamond League Final began at the Weltklasse Zurich Diamond League in September 2021, when she posted a stunning 52.80 seconds to surpass Shamier Little and Anna Ryzhykova's 53.35 and 53.70 seconds, respectively.

A later year, at the Weltklasse Zurich, the Dutch athlete ran the race in 53.03s to lift the Diamond League Final trophy for the second time after finishing ahead of Gianna Woodruff and Janieve Russell, who marked 53.72s and 53.77s, respectively. At last year's final, she registered a meet record with 51.98 seconds.

Following her fourth consecutive Diamond League final victory, Bol took to social media to convey her immense joy in achieving the glorious feat. She shared a picture of herself celebrating after the win on her Instagram story and wrote,

"Thank you Brussels 😘😘🥰 such a great meet to finish off the season."

"Never felt this good physically at the end" - Femke Bol reflects on her 2024 season

Following her victory at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, Femke Bol reflected on her successful season during the Olympic year.

Bol won a bronze medal in her pet event at the 2024 Paris Olympics after listing a time of 52.15 seconds to finish behind Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Anna Cockrell. Further, she ran the last leg and secured a gold and a silver medal with the national teams in the mixed 4x400m and women's 4x400m relay events, respectively.

During an interview with FloTrack, when asked about her learnings from the season, she said:

"I can race a lot. I've never felt this good physically at the end and I've learned when I enjoy I do the best," she said (at 1:06).
"Becoming Olympic champion with the mixed relay team, crossing that finish line, and being with my teammates after the ups and downs we had with the mixed relay was something so special," Bol added (at 1:56).

Femke Bol also claimed a gold medal in her preferred event at the European Championship this year with 52.49 seconds.
