"He asked to do Bible study with him"- When Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone shared how she knew husband Andre was the one for her

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone shared the story of Bible studying with her then-boyfriend Andre Levrone and meeting a group of great people with similar values. Since Andre was also driven by faith, for the first time McLaughlin-Levrone felt sure of establishing a future with someone like him.

Mclaughlin-Levrone, the most dominant 400m hurdler with six world record times and four Olympic golds, met former NFL player Andre Levrone through a common friend from high school. The latter slid into her Instagram DMs later and they started as friends.

After they started dating, Andre Levrone invited the Olympian to do Bible study. In that moment, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone felt a special connection, saying (via The Knot):

"He asked me to do Bible study with him and introduced me to a group of really great people who were encouraging and very mature. It was the first time I was in a relationship with a man who I felt could lead me in my faith to a place where I wanted to be."

The four-time Olympic gold medalist opened up about meeting Andre not long after she evolved in her faith and started submitting to God.

Talking about how their intentions aligned, she added:

"If I could say the one thing about our relationship, it's that it was always very intentional. Honestly, I knew the fourth day we ever talked."

After McLaughlin-Levrone clocked 50.37s in the 400m hurdles to set a new world record and soar to Olympic glory, she ran to her husband and embraced him. In a post-race appearance in Today, her husband Andre Levrone expressed pride in his wife and lauded her hard work.

"I'm incredibly proud of her. I can't even put it into words. There was just sheer emotion coming through me last night at the race. But, the work ethic that she mentioned; she worked incredibly hard," Andre said. (via Christian Post)

He added:

"We're always there encouraging her practice. … But, yesterday, before the race, just seeing the confidence and the trust and the faith that she had in God, in her work ethic and the plan that her coach had put into place for her, … I can't describe it in words. It's beautiful."

McLaughlin is the first track woman to set four world records in the same event and run sub-52s and sub-51s in history. She has finished with gold in every Olympic race she has participated in.
