Leon Marchand had an impressive run at the Swimming World Cup in Shanghai, as he won three gold medals during the event. The Frenchman entered the tournament after an impressive showing at the Paris Olympics, where he won five medals, including four golds.

Marchand has established himself as one of the world's top swimmers this year and his impressive run of form continued at the World Cup in Shanghai. He won three gold medals, triumphing in the 100m medley, 200m medley and the 400m medley. However, there were also a few events where the Frenchman was unable to secure a medal.

The 22-year-old competed at the event in Shanghai while wearing fellow swimmer Caeleb Dressel's cap that featured the American flag and the latter's surname. His first gold came on October 18, when he won the 100m medley event after clocking 50.65 seconds in the final. He edged out Switzerland's Noe Ponti, who clocked 50.66 seconds, while Duncan Scott came third after finishing the final in 51.14 seconds.

Marchand's second gold came in the 200m medley event, where he clocked 1:50.30 minutes in the final, thus setting a new European record as well as a new World Cup record. The 22-year-old also broke the French record with his win in the 200m medley, where Duncan Scott won silver and Noe Ponti settled for bronze.

The Frenchman's third and final gold came on the World Cup's last day, as he won the 400m medley after clocking 4:00.03 minutes in the final. Marchand beat out Italy's Alberto Razzetti, who finished the final 1.51 seconds after him, while Australia's Lewis Clareburt settled for bronze.

The 200m breaststroke was one of the events in which the 22-year-old won gold in Paris. However, he missed out on the podium in Shanghai, finishing fourth in the final behind Australia's Joshua Yong, China's Haiyang Qin and Netherlands' Casper Corbeau.
