Hunter Woodhall sent out a strong message as he returned to the track to prepare for the upcoming season after a victorious campaign at the Paris Paralympics. The American athlete revealed that he had begun his preparations for the 2025 season and looks forward to breaking records as he continues his pursuit of greatness.
Woodhall embarked on his third Paralympic campaign in Paris after putting forward an incredible performance at the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Trials, which included setting a new American record in the men's 400m T-62. The 25-year-old athlete competed in three events at the Paris Paralympics, which included the men's 100m (T64), 400m (T62), and the 4x100m universal relay.
Hunter Woodhall won the gold medal in the men's 400m (T62) and a bronze medal in the 4x100m Universal Relay. Soon after his return, he was a part of many interviews as well as made several appearances in sporting events like NASCAR and college football along with his wife Tara, who won the Olympic gold medal in the women's long jump.
The American athlete took to social media to reveal that he had begun his preparations for the upcoming track season. By embarking on day 1 of his off-season training, Hunter Woodhall put forward his aims for the 2025 track season.
"Day 1 of 2025 season. Let’s break records," he wrote.
Hunter Woodhall on his first Paralympic Gold medal
Hunter Woodhall penned an emotional message recalling his Olympic journey after winning the gold medal in the men's 400m T-62. The American expressed how he had waited for the moment for the past nine years.
Woodhall expressed how he continued his pursuit of the gold medal despite facing many setbacks in his journey and believed that it was those shortcomings that eventually prepared him to achieve Paralympic glory in Paris.
"9 years competing for Majors. This is my first time ever being atop the podium🇺🇸🥇 This is my first time being the reason our anthem plays This is my first time being a Paralympic Champion So many emotions, mainly just grateful and proud to be an American," he wrote.
"All of my other shortcomings prepared me for this. just trusting the process and time in the process. Dreams do come true, sometimes they just take awhile. Keep fighting," he added.
Furthermore, he urged his fans to have a never-give-up mentality and persevere through hardships, which will eventually lead to success.
