"I'm representing people who wear glasses"- Stephen Nedoroscik reacts to 'hilarious' memes of his comparison with Clark Kent following Paris Olympics

Stephen Nedoroscik recently reacted to the funny memes that went all over the Internet following his pommel horse performance during the Men's Gymnastics event finals.

The United States men's gymnastics team members including Asher Hong, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Broody Malone recently graced the Today Show with anchors Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. This comes just a day after their triumphant bronze medal-winning performance on the third day of the Paris Olympics.

It was during the show that the host of the show Kotb and Guthrie recognized the superb performance of the team as they clinched a medal in the men's gymnastics event for the first time since 2008.

However, the highlight of the show was when the hosts asked the 25-year-old, Nedoroscik about him becoming a funny meme template due to the glasses that he wore during the event finals on Monday (July 29). The hosts of the show, Kotb and Gutherie also reiterated the funny comparison of Stephen Nedoroscik to Clerk Kent (in Superman) which is all over the social media after his superb performance during the finals.

In response to this, the Massachusetts native said:

"I think they're awesome. I'm representing people that wear glasses well."

He further explained the reason on the reason for removing his glasses just before he got on the mat:

"It's not necessarily clear, but the thing about pommel horse is if I keep them on, they're gonna fly somewhere. When I go up on the pommel horse, it's all about feeling the equipment. I don't even really see when I'm doing my gymnastics. It's all in the hands — I can feel everything."

With the pressure of the finals on his head, it all came down to a good Pommel Horse routine for Stephen Nedoroscik and Team USA's pommel horse specialist didn't disappoint.

The 25-year-old scored a superb 15.200 points in the apparatus as he led his team to a bronze medal finish in the French capital with 257.793 points. Nedoroscik was also assisted superbly by his Michigan teammate, Paul Juda who performed superbly in vault exercises, adding 14.666 points to the US tally.

Following a bronze medal-winning performance in team exercises, Stephen Nedoroscik will feature in the pommel horse final of the Paris Olympics scheduled to be held on August 3. He is the only male American gymnast in Paris to qualify for an individual apparatus.
