"I’m truly speechless" - Simone Biles expresses her disbelief after all-around victory to bag 9th Olympic medal
Following her recent victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles expressed her disbelief in achieving the glorious feat for the ninth time. The 27-year-old secured her second Olympic gold medal in the individual all-around event.
Biles clinched her first gold medal at her debut Games in Rio 2016, when she defeated her fellow teammate Aly Raisman and Russia's Aliya Mustafina, among others. At the ongoing Paris Olympics, she surpassed her strong contender Rebeca Andrade and 2020 Tokyo Olympics all-around champion Suni Lee.
Biles' latest victory at the Games marks her ninth Olympic medal. The American earned five medals at the Rio Games. Four years later, at the Tokyo Games, she bagged two medals before withdrawing from the finals to priortize her mental health.
Along with her gold in individual all-around in the French capital, Biles, along with the team, including Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, Suni Lee, and Jordan Chiles collected a gold medal in the team event.
Biles shared a few pictures from her all-around event and conveyed her disbelief in achieving the remarkable victory multiple times.
"3rd times the charm 🖤," Biles wrote. "Can’t believe I did it, AGAIN . I’m truly speechless. Olympic All Around champion!!!!!!!!!"
With nine Olympic medals under her belt, Biles now stands alongside Nadia Comaneci for women gymnasts with the most number of Olympic medals.
"I love my black job" - Simone Biles takes veiled dig at Donald Trump over his offensive remarks
Simone Biles recently took what looked like a dig at Donald Trump for some of the latter's past remarks. During the National Association of Black Journalists in June, the former U.S. President stated that the rise of immigrants would take up "black jobs."
"They’re (immigrants) taking Black jobs now and it could be 18, it could be 19, and even 20 million people," Trump said (via NBC News)
After Biles' stunning showdown in Paris, singer Ricky Davila shared her pictures with the Olympic gold medal and wrote:
"Simone Biles being the GOAT, winning Gold medals and dominating gymnastics is her black job."
Biles reshared the post with a caption that seemingly made a dig towards Trump.
"I love my black job," the gymnast wrote and added a black heart.
Biles will be next seen competing in the finals of the individual vault, balance beam, and floor exercise events in Paris
