In Pictures: Kenny Bednarek and his golfer girlfriend Sharmila Nicollet enjoy trip to Bali, share glimpses of romantic getaway
American track and field star Kenny Bednarek is currently enjoying some leisure time, having traveled to Bali with his Indian golfer girlfriend Sharmila Nicollet. The couple has been together for the past four years.
After his track and field glory throughout the 2024 season, the 26-year-old runner took a trip to Bali, Indonesia, where he enjoyed his stay at the Tegalalang Rice Terrace. Posting the pictures and "Bird's Eye View" of his Bali escapades, Benarek also dropped a picture with his girlfriend where they posed outdoors against a lush green backdrop of rice terrains.
In the picture, Bednarek sported a colorful geometric-patterned button-up shirt paired with matching shorts, while Nicollet donned a red floral dress complemented by white platform sneakers.
This year in August, Bednarek participated in his second Olympic Games. He competed in the 200m and secured a silver medal with an impressive time of 19.62 seconds. During the race, he also outperformed his fellow American and gold medal contender Noah Lyles, who finished in third place.
Furthermore, a bungled first hand-off between Bednarek and Coleman cost Team United States a men's 4x100m relay medal as they were disqualified from the final. Following that, Bednarek defeated the 200m Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo in the Diamond League final in Brussels to conclude his season on a high note.
"These achievements are more than just medals" - Sharmila Nicollet penned a poignant note for Kenny Bednarek
After Kenny Bednarek's Paris Olympics success, Nicollet took to her Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt message applauding the runner for being an inspiration for others and in her own journey as well.
"Dear Baby Ken, You’ve come a long way since I met you when you first turned pro in 2020. Being together, working together and witnessing your journey to both Olympics and World Championships, watching you win Silver three times and making the team every single time has been nothing short of inspiring to everyone and especially to me being a professional athlete myself," she wrote in the caption."
She added:
"These achievements are more than just medals. It’s a testament to your unwavering dedication, perseverance, pushing past limits, never giving up even when the odds seemed insurmountable, and the countless sacrifices you’ve made along the way."
Bednarek was also recognized by his home town of Rice Lake, where he was honored with a day in his name.
