Is Snoop Dogg being paid by NBC for 'special correspondence' at Paris Olympics 2024? Exploring the American rapper's reported salary package
Legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg has been one of the most famous personalities to grace the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 52-year-old is acting as a special correspondent and presenter for NBC, the official US broadcaster of the event in Paris.
However, the one thing that has been in the trend recently is the amount of money the American rapper receives from the broadcasting giant for carrying out his job as a presenter and a correspondent. Even though there have been no official confirmations from NBC or the rapper, one of the reports suggests that Snoop Dogg is receiving around $50,000 daily, along with the cost of his daily expenses.
Great Oaks Venture capitalist, Henry L. McNamara recently shared a tweet on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, in which he wrote that one of the NBC executives disclosed the information about Snoop Dogg's salary for being NBC's special correspondent and presenter at the Paris Olympics. He disclosed in his tweet:
"Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, and they said Snoop is getting $500,000 a day plus expenses to be here promoting the Olympics. From gin and juice to a few million for being a celeb at the Games—what a world!"
The 52-year-old was not only seen carrying the Olympic torch during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics but also graced the floor for numerous events such as gymnastics, athletics, and skateboarding.
Reports suggest that the American rapper's presence at the 2024 Paris Olympics has greatly increased the quadrennial event's viewership. As per BBC's report, the idea of roping in Dogg for the presenter role came after the 2021 Tokyo Olympics when the latter had a brief yet successful commentary stint with NBC along with the American comedian, Kevin Hart.

The USA Track and Field's official Facebook account shared a reel in which the American rapper was seen having a conversation over a phone call with the Women's 200m medalists.
The reel featured two US women, Gabby Thomas and Brittany Brown, who clinched the gold and bronze medals in the event with run times of 21.83 seconds and 22.08 seconds respectively. Meanwhile, Saint Lucian athlete Julien Alfred clinched the silver medal clocking a time of 22.20 seconds.
