“Horse boy” - Laurie Hernandez reacts to Stephen Nederoscik after he wins historic Bronze at Paris Olympics 2024

2016 Olympic gold medalist gymnast Laurie Hernandez has reacted to Stephen Nedoroscik's Bronze medal triumph at the Paris Olympics 2024 on social media.

Nedoroscik has become a social media phenom following his historic win with the USA's Men's Gymnastics team. They won Bronze in Paris 2024: this was USA men's first Olympic medal in gymnastics in 16 years.

Nodoroscik has now won Bronze in the individual Pommel Horse event as well. The Massachusetts native raised hopes for gold after finishing the qualifying events with a tied highest score.

However, 2023 world champion Rhys McClenaghan (15.533) took home the gold medal for Ireland. Kazakh gymnast Nariman Kubranov grabbed second place (15.433) and Nedoroscik finished third with a score of 15.3. Laurie Hernandez wrote on social media:

"LETS GO HORSE BOY."

Stephen Nedoroscik is making rounds on social media due to his accolades in the Paris Olympics 2024, as well as his appearance. Nedoroscik, who is a mechanical engineer, wears glasses. He channels a different side while performing on the Pommel Horse.

Nedoroscik has been one of the exceptional performers of the ongoing Olympics. Even casual gymnastic fans have followed the US athlete's ventures closely.

Nedoroscik has now become a household name with his accolades at the Paris Olympics 2024. He has a unique hobby: solving the Rubik's cube.

He revealed that he solved one in 10 seconds before Team USA's Men's Gymnastics final. He told NBC on the same (via BBC):

"I love to solve it- it's just fun."

“I do like to make the argument that one thing that happens when you solve your next cube is it helps you stay in the moment,” he said on the 'In The Village' Podcast with Elizabeth Beisel. “I know how to talk when I do it, but all the way through you have to make sure you’re watching every piece. Gymnastics is kind of the same thing. You have to stay in the moment doing every skill.”

Nedoroscik has also won the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastic Championships - he's the first American man to do so. Nedoroscik has eye conditions like coloboma and strabismus since birth, which require him to wear eyeglasses. He cannot apply for a driver's license due to the same.

Due to his eye condition, the US gymnast has been compared to Clark Kent: Superman's alter ego. Here's what he said about the comparisons in an interview with TODAY:

“I think they’re awesome. I’m representing people that wear glasses well. I don’t even really see when I’m doing my gymnastics. It’s all in the hands. I can feel everything.”

After the Olympics, he will go on the road with his men’s team gymnastics teammates as well as Simone Biles, for the Gold Over America Tour in September.
