Lexi Rodriguez expresses gratitude during holiday season as she shares major highlights with teammates and family

Former Nebraska Cornhuskers Women's Volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez recently shared some major highlights featuring her teammates and family. This comes amidst the Christmas celebrations and the end of her stint with the program.

She ended her four years with the Cornhuskers last week after the team's defeat in the national championships. Following this, the Sterling native has also decided to join the LOVB Omaha to continue her elite career in volleyball.

As she concluded her collegiate career, the 21-year-old took to her Instagram handle to share pictures from her Nebraska diaries, expressing gratitude to her close ones. Her post included group photos featuring the team's co-captain Merritt Beason, Lindsey Krausse, Haroer Murray, Kennedi Orr, etc. Notably, her parents, Chris and Crystal Rodriguez were also seen in one of her pictures.

Rodriguez wrote in her caption:

"feeling so grateful this holiday season, Merry Christmas"

Lexi Rodriguez has been named the All-American four times in her collegiate career and has won the Big Ten Conference Championships twice in 2023 and 2024. However, across her collegiate career, Rodriguez failed to win a national title with her best finish coming last year when they lost to the Texas Longhorns and settled for runners-up.

Lexi Rodriguez expressed her thoughts after receiving the keys to the city of her hometown, Sterling. She received this major honor on Monday (Dec 23) and the mayor of the city presented her with the keys.

In an interview just after receiving the key, Rodriguez stated that she didn't expect to receive this major honor. She further added that Sterling is a very special place for her as her journey started in this very city. She said (via KWQC):

"It was definitely incredible. I definitely didn't expect anything like this and everytime I come back to Sterling even if its for a short period of time I feel like everyone is so welcoming and so supportive and its just, it means everything to me because this is my heart and soul. I started here and I always comeback here and so just to have people recognize and be supportive, its amazing."

Lexi Rodriguez also made a name for herself during her high school years at Sterling High School where she performed impressively for the institution as a libero, winning several state championships.
