Lindsey Vonn has arrived in Paris ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024. The Games are set to begin on Friday, July 26, and end on Sunday, August 11.
Following her retirement, Vonn will be out to cheer on some of her favorite athletes and enjoy other amazing activities in the French capital, which she has already started. The 39-year-old revealed on Instagram what all she did upon arriving in Paris, including going to the gym and riding a bike around the city.
"Made it to Paris! Got a lot done in the first day… worked out, went to the embassy, biked around the city, did a rehearsal for the big day tomorrow *, and had a nice dinner with my Dad. Off to bed for one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever been a part of!" Vonn wrote.
Meanwhile, Vonn will also await the International Olympic Committee's verdict on Utah hosting the 2034 Winter Olympic Games.
Lindsey Vonn has been tasked with the role of chief of athlete experience, the first of its kind, as she will look to create a suitable environment for athletes’ families at the event.
The retired alpine skier emphasized that athletes' families should be treated like athletes, considering how her family, especially her mother, was vital for her success as a skier.
Lindsey Vonn added that after the IOC makes its final decision concerning the host of the 2034 global showpiece, she would share more details concerning her role and what she has planned for the athletes and their families.
In a post on her Instagram page, Lindsey Vonn also rallied behind Team USA as they prepare for the Olympic Games.
"Tomorrow the International Olympic Committee will vote and decide if Salt Lake City will receive the Olympics in 2034! I am the Chief of Athlete Experience and my biggest contribution to this bid is helping create an Olympic Village for the athlete’s families," Vonn shared on her Instagram.
"Taking care of families should be just as important as the athletes in my opinion. Without my family, I would never had been a skier, let alone an Olympic champion. I hope we receive the nomination and I can tell you all more about what we have in store! GO USA!!" she added.
