Masai Russell pens appreciation note for her boyfriend Robbie Springfield weeks after winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics

Masai Russell posted a picture with her boyfriend, Robbie Springfield, expressing love for her support system. Russell won her maiden Olympic gold at the 2024 Paris Games, triumphing in the 100m hurdles.

The Kentucky Wildcats alum recorded her personal best time and won the 100 hurdles in 12.25s at the 2024 US Olympic Trials. She continued her strong form in Paris, clocking 12.33 seconds and leaving the World and Tokyo Olympic champions behind to win gold.

Since winning the feat in Paris, Russell has often appreciated her boyfriend, Robbie Springfield, for his role in her life. Recently, she took to her Instagram story to post a picture with him as part of an Instagram feature.

"Post a picture with your partner, simply just because you love them," the caption read.

Springfield, also a graduate of the University of Kentucky, specializes in jumps and sprints and has recently joined Morehead State Cross Country and Track & Field as an assistant coach.

Fresh off her Olympic exploits, Masai Russell had resorted to her Instagram stories to express gratitude to her boyfriend, who never let the hurdler dim her spirits.

"Y'all know I love my man. He means the world to me. He never allowed me to give up on my dreams when I felt like all the odds were against me. When I couldn't see light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you papa for being the best example in your own life to lead and guide," the 24-year-old wrote.

At the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Russell started off strong but hit the second hurdle in her semifinal race. The obstruction ended her hopes of a victory at the World championships.

Recently, Masai Russell engaged in a casual interactive session with her social fans in the 'Ask me anything' Instagram feature. When asked about the person who helped her deal with the heartbreak at Budapest in 2023, she posted a picture with Springfield as her answer.

The 24-year-old's personal best of 12.25 seconds in the 100m hurdles is tied for fifth in the all-time fastest timings in the discipline. She also has personal bests of 54.66 seconds in the 400m hurdles and 7.75 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
