"Maybe something as an ode to Paris" - Simone Biles unsure of adding up to her Olympic rings tattoo

Simone Biles spoke about the possibility of getting a new tattoo following the Paris Olympics. The American already has a tattoo of the sporting event's rings.

Simone Biles won four gold medals in her maiden Olympics appearance in 2016 Rio, setting an American record for most golds in women's gymnastics at a single edition of the sporting event. The following year, she got her first tattoo, the classic Olympic rings, to honor her success story. She was accompanied by singer-songwriter Jake Miller to the studio, who documented the entire process of her first tattoo.

Fast forward to now, the six-time Olympic gold medalist spoke about getting another tattoo after the Paris Olympics, where she has already won a few golds.

Simone Biles took to her TikTok handle to post a GRWM video, in which she casually dropped her new idea while contouring her nose.

"I also haven't decided if I'm going to get a tattoo after this. I already have the Olympic rings, but maybe something as an ode to Paris. I'm not sure," she voiced in a clip shot before her all-around Olympic win in Paris.

Simone Biles has a couple of other tattoos, each holding different meanings. Her "Still I Rise" tattoo below the collar bone is a nod to Maya Angelou's poem of the same name. The "1997" tattoo just below her elbow signifies her birth year. The Olympian has the "Golden", "XO" and butterflies tattoos in her inner left wrist, lips and on the back of her right hand, respectively.

Biles was at the mouth of immense backlash after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics in the wake of 'twisties'. However, the Olympian maintained confidence and self-respect, leading her to the "Still I Rise" tattoo, inspired from Maya Angelou's poem of the same name.

In an interview, she shared that the meaning behind the tattoo told the tale of her ability to rise to the occassion despite roadblocks and traumas.

"Before I got this tattoo, it was a saying that I loved — obviously, Maya Angelou — and I was like, ‘And still I rise is perfect,’ because I feel like that’s kind of the epitome of my career and my life story. Because I always rise to the occasion, and after all of the traumas and downfalls, I’ve always risen," she said. (via People)

Simone Biles recently won her third gold medal at the Paris Olympics after winning the vault event. Brazil's Rebeca Andrade won silver while Jade Carey clinched bronze.
