Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track announces the signing of entire 100m hurdles podium from Paris Olympics
Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track adds more star power to its roster after its recent signing of the three podium finishers of the 100m hurdles event of the 2024 Paris Olympics - Masai Russell, Cyrena Samba-Mayela, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. As per reports, the three will compete in the 100m hurdles and 100m dash of the competition.
Moreover, the trio will also be a part of all four meets of the GST as they will be signing as racers who are required to compete in all the meets of GST across the season.
The fourth member of the GST racers category in the hurdles event (each race in a GST meet will consist of four contracted GST racers and four challengers) is still to be named by the league. The GST took to its X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce these three signings.
"ONLY THE FASTEST. Welcome to the Grand Slam Track family, Masai Russell, Cyréna Samba-Mayela, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn."
With these three signings, the competition in the 100m hurdles event of the Michael Johnson-founded track meet has leveled up with three Olympic medalists going head-to-head against each other for a handsome prize money of $100,000.
This is the second lot representing an entire podium Johnson's track meet has signed recently, the first being the Paris Olympics' Men's 1500m medalists consisting of Cole Hocker, Josh Kerr, and Yared Nuguse.
Melissa Jefferson is set to compete in Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track meet scheduled to start next year
2024 Paris Olympics bronze medalist Melissa Jefferson adds to the long list of Paris Olympians who are set to race in the Grand Slam Track meet set to start from the 2025 track and field season.
Jefferson will be a part of the short racers (100m and 200m) category and enter the meet as a GST racer, thus competing in all four meets of the Grand Slam Track across the season.
Jefferson shared her excitement and enthusiasm for this newly launched league following her signing. She said (via insidethegames):
