Nigeria Athletics Team for Paris Olympics 2024 ft. Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) announced their Track & Field squad for the Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday, July 6. The African nation has put out a star-studded lineup with 34 athletes, including reserves.

The Nigerian squad will compete in nine men's and women's events each at the Paris Olympics. Additionally, they'll also field a team in the 4x400m mixed relay event.

The men's events include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 400m hurdles, javelin throw, shot put, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.

Meanwhile, the nine women's events are 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, discus throw, hammer throw, shot put, long jump, high jump and 4x100m relay.

30 athletes (15 male & 15 female) will compete across 19 events. Chidi Okezie and Samuel Ogazi will ply their trade in two events - men's 400m and 4x400m relay.

Favour Ashe, Godson Brume, and Kayinsola Ajayi will compete in the men's 100m and 4x100m relay. 200m athlete Udodi Onwuzurike will also be part of the 4x100m relay team.

Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Tima Godbless will compete in the women's 100m race and women's 4x100m relay event. Additionally, Ofili will also run in the 200m race.

Sprinters Ella Onojuvwevwo and Esther Elo Joseph will be in action in two events - women's 400m and 4x400m mixed relay.
