Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield reacts to Olympic champion hyping her up during a TV appearance
Junelle Bromfield recently responded to her boyfriend Noah Lyles' comments about her in a television appearance after both athletes competed in the Paris Olympics 2024. Bromfield competed for Jamaica while Lyles represented the United States at the quadrennial Games.
The power couple is presently among the most popular in the track and field community, having been in a relationship since 2022.
Lyles appeared on NBC's Today Show recently where on being asked to speak about Bromfield by the interviewers, the 100m Olympic champion said:
"Yeah, I mean it's Junelle [Bromfield], a two-time Olympian, Olympic bronze medal winner, multi-world championship bronze medalist, she's been running since she was 8 years old making teams for Jamaica.”
He then expressed his pride in Bromfield and called her a survivor and fighter, adding:
“So, she's very talented in her own rights, you know, she ran the Olympics this year in the open 400 meters and I'm so proud of her and she, of course, she's a survivor, she's a fighter, she's savvy. As my mom would say, she has a bounce-back ability. No matter what happens she'll be able to get up and come back. You know those are similar qualities I find myself that I think we relate to.”
Bromfield shared a video of Lyles' above television appearance on Instagram with a heartfelt message, adding:
“And i know if i ever doubt myself . He will remind me how amazing i am ❤️‼”
A look into Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield’s performance at Paris Olympics 2024
Noah Lyles won the gold medal in the men’s 100m at the Paris Olympics after defeating Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson in a nail-biting contest that saw him register a new personal best of 9.79s. After becoming the Olympic champion in the 100m, Lyles attempted the sprint double aiming for the gold in the 200m.
However, Lyles tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the 200m finals and the American sprinter could only clinch the bronze in the discipline. Due to health reasons, he didn’t feature in the 4x100m relay.
On the other hand, Junelle Bromfield, who was a member of the Tokyo Olympics bronze medal-winning team in the women’s 4x400m relay, made it to the semis of the women’s 400m at the Paris Olympics but couldn’t qualify for the final stage.
