Noah Lyles Nail Paint Designs: Exploring Olympic Champion's unique styles from Paris Olympics 2024
Noah Lyles, who recently took the 100m victory at the Paris Olympics, has amassed popularity for painting his nails for the races. He usually sports a combination of color and words in honor of the event he participates in as a representative of Team USA. Though he faced criticism from several social media fans for his unusual fashion choices, Lyles has made it clear that nothing else matters when he's confident in himself.
Noah Lyles achieved a 'three-peat' at the 2023 World Championships by winning the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay, which made him the second man with the 'sprint treble' at the Worlds after Usain Bolt (2015). His impressive feats at the 2024 US Olympic Trials qualified him for the Paris Olympics as the 100m and 200m top seed.
Lyles won the 100m dash against a contentious 100m line-up at the Games in 9.79s, achieving a top speed of 27.84 mph. Besides his talent on the track, the 27-year-old turned thousands of heads for his iconic manicured nails.
In the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics, Lyles was spotted sporting a nail art spelling out the word 'ICON'. Each of his fingernails had the alphabets of 'ICON' written in blue on a white base.
In his 100m gold-winning run, Noah Lyles sported a combination of red, white and blue, signifying the Team USA national flag. The six-time World gold medalist has been at the mouth of criticism of social media fans for his fashion choices, which conventionally are meant for women.
However, it hasn't fazed the athlete, who has found the comments and backlashes amusing.
"I’m a person who knows that a lot of people have different opinions and they have them for different reasons. To be honest, I’m so confident in myself that it doesn’t really matter. I think it’s funny at times," he said while silencing criticisms. (via US Weekly)
Noah Lyles' mother also painted her nails in support of him and Junelle Bromfield
Noah Lyles' mother, Keisha Caine Bishop, extended support her son and his Jamaican girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, by painting her nails for the Paris Olympic showdowns. She was present to watch Lyles in action at Stade de France and was the one to whom the latter ran to after winning the 100m title.
She painted the fingernails of her left hand in the US flag's colors and did the same with the Jamaican flag colors on her right hand fingernails.
Noah Lyles clocked 20.19s in the 200m Heat 1 and topped the leaderboard. The third-fastest 200m sprinter of all-time will look to add the second gold to his Olympic medal tally.
