Noah Lyles reacts ecstatically after getting featured on the New York Times crossword after winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics

Noah Lyles was amazed to see his name in the bite-sized version of the New York Time crossword. His name featured in one of the vertical answers in the puzzle, in honor of his Olympic success in Paris.

Lyles rose to fame with his three-peat achievement at the 2023 World Champions, bagging the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay titles. At the 2024 New York Grand Prix, he won the 200m dash in 19.77s, running into a significant headwind (the fastest time into such a headwind this year). Following that, he competed in his second Olympic edition in Paris, winning the 100m in 9.784s. The silver finisher Kishane Thompson finished only 0.005s behind.

Lyles' COVID-19-struck health marred the 200m performance in the Olympic finals. He finished with bronze and withdrew from the 4x100m relay finals. The Olympian ended his season but the impact of his success still resonates.

In the latest NYT MIni, a bite-sized version of the more challenging NYT crossword, Noah Lyles was excited to see his name as one of the vertical features. He posted an iPhone screenshot on his X handle, where 'Noah' was the solution of No. 2 - down.

"Oooo ik this one!!!" his caption read.

Noah Lyles recently attended the US Open singles finals in New York and walked the runway at the New York Fashion Week. He was one of the highlights of Willy Chavarria’s Spring/Summer 2025 ready-to-wear show and Spring/Summer 2025 collaborative collection of American DJ Steve Aoki and popular Japanese Manga, One Piece.

His girlfriend Junelle Bromfield also graced the Steve Aoki x One Piece runway in a purple dress.

Noah Lyles addressed the 200m Olympic backlash, waiting for the right time to reveal the story

Noah Lyles collapsed on the track after his 200m performance in the Olympic finals. He later unveiled having run the race with COVID-19-struck health. Fans were not pleased with the late revelation and criticized the Olympian for being extra energetic before his feat.

Lyles addressed the situation and explained he and his therapist decided to 'amp up the body' to avoid fatigue.

"[My therapist and I] said we have to amp the body up so if it does get fatigued, you’re already at a high level and you have to ride that high as long as possible. That’s how I’m going to try to run my best performances," Lyles said (via Forbes).
"Not everyone knows the full story. I’m waiting for the right media to bring out the full story,” he added.

Lyles added a gold and a bronze to his Olympic medal tally, which already had a 200m bronze from the 2020 Tokyo Games.
