Olivia Dunne dresses up in an all-white one-piece ensemble as she shares glimpses of graduation from LSU
LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is the highest-paid female collegiate athlete. As a student-athlete, she's found fame across various social media platforms by giving fans a look into her everyday life. Most recently, the American graduated from Louisiana State University and shared snaps from her commencement ceremony with fans.
Dunne first signed with LSU in November 2019 and joined the team early the next season. Since then, she's competed for the Tigers for four years and was part of the team that won the NCAA Team Championships last year.
Now, while she will continue competing for LSU for one last season, she has completed her academic journey with the University, having recently graduated. At the ceremony, Dunne posed in a chic white dress paired with transparent heels, alongside a purple graduation gown and the graduate cap, sharing snaps of the same on her Instagram. She captioned the photos,
“Forever LSU.”
Olivia Dunne majored in interdisciplinary studies, and her collegiate career has seen her be named to the 2021 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll, 2022 SEC Academic Honor Roll, as well as the 2023 and 2024 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll. She was also named a WCGA Academic All-American in 2021 and 2024.
When will Olivia Dunne compete for the LSU Tigers?
While she is done with her academics at Louisiana State University, Olivia Dunne will still continue to compete for the Tigers on the gymnastics mat. She had announced her return via a video on social media and later explained that she wanted to prove herself as an individual athlete, saying (as quoted by ESPN).
"I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor.”
Olivia Dunne has already made her final year debut for the Tigers, performing in the team's Gymnastics 101 annual exhibition meet in the Pete Maravich Center. Up next, Dunne can be expected to be in action on Friday, January 3, as the Tigers take on Iowa State University for their first meet of the season.
For Olivia Dunne, her 2024 season was marred by injuries, and she was only able to compete in nine meets for the Tigers. In these nine meets, she achieved a career-high of 9.900 on the floor and a season-best of 9.875 on the bars.
