Paris Olympics 2024 Day 10: Medal Events for Team USA on 5 Aug ft. Simone Biles and Suni Lee in balance beam finals, Valarie Allman in discus throw
On Day 9 (August 4, 2024) of the Paris Olympics, the United States surged to the top of the medal table by winning five gold medals. In addition to its five golds, the nation also secured two silver and three bronze medals on the blockbuster Sunday. So far, the United States has won a total of 71 medals, comprising of 19 gold, 26 silver, and 26 bronze.
Noah Lyles and Bobby Finke were two of the top athletes for the United States at the Paris Olympics on August 4, as they became Olympic champions in the Athletics - men's 100m and Swimming - men's 1500m freestyle, respectively. Lyles set a personal best of 9.79 seconds to win in a star-studded field, while Finke shattered the world record with a time of 14:30.67.
Scottie Scheffler in men's Golf, Kristen Faulkner in Cycling, and the women's 4x100m medley relay team in Swimming earned the other three gold medals on Day 9 of the quadrennial games. Renowned archer Brady Ellison and the men's 4x100m medley relay team secured silver medals, while Fred Kerley, Suni Lee, and Austen Smith collected bronze medals.
Day ten at the Paris Olympics will also feature a formidable USA contingent competing for medals, which includes the likes of Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Valarie Allman, Sam Kendricks, and Vincent Hancock among others.
