Paris Olympics 2024 Day 5: Medal Events for Team USA on 31 July ft. Katie Ledecky in 1500m freestyle, Fred Richard in men’s Gymnastics all-around
Day 4 of the 2024 Paris Olympics witnessed the United States display impressive performances in multiple events, including gymnastics, swimming, and rugby 7s, among other sports. By the end of Day 4, the United States had added six more medals, bringing their total to 26.
The USA women’s gymnastics team was phenomenal in the women’s all-around team event, securing the United States' fourth gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They achieved a resounding victory with a score of 172.296 points, while second-placed Italy scored 166.861 points.
Meanwhile, Regan Smith and Bobby Finke had to settle for silver medals in the 100m backstroke and 800m freestyle respectively. They were narrowly defeated by Australia’s Kaylee McKeown and Ireland’s Daniel Wiffen, who both set new Olympic records on their way to victory.
Other events where the USA collected medals on Day 4 at the Paris Olympics included the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay and women’s rugby 7s.
On Day 5 of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the United States will aim for their fifth gold as the legendary Katie Ledecky competes in the women’s 1500m freestyle. Ledecky dominated the heats with a time of 15:47.43 and will be looking to defend her title. Other prominent athletes to watch on July 31 at the Paris Olympics include Fred Richard, Paul Juda, Morgan Pearson, and others.
