Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count Day 9: Updated tally as Team USA stands 1st after Noah Lyles clinches 100m gold
With the conclusion of Day 9, Team USA has secured the top place in the medal tally at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Team USA has collected 71 medals so far, including 19 gold, 26 silver, and as many bronze.
China follows the leading squad with 45 medals, including 19 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals. France and Australia are standing in the next two places with 44 and 31 medals, respectively, with each national squad bagging 12 gold medals.
Swimming is leading the table for the Team USA medal tally with 28 medals, including eight gold, 13 silver, and seven bronze medals. Gymnastics stands in second place with eight medals, including three gold and five bronze medals. Athletics and Fencing are following the top medal-winning disciplines with nine and four medals.

Noah Lyles clinched his first Olympic gold medal in the 100m on Day 9 of the 2024 Paris Olympics. He secured the victory after a narrow gap between him and Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by clocking a spectacular time of 9.79 seconds. Fred Kerley followed the top two finishers with 9.81 seconds.
Kristen Faulkner and Scottie Scheffler won gold medals on Day 9 in the women's individual road race (cycling) and men's individual golf, respectively. Bobby Finke secured his second medal in Paris after bagging a gold medal in the 1500m freestyle, posting a world record-breaking time of 14:30.67.
The women's 4x100m medley relay team, including Torri Huske, Lilly King, Simone Manuel, and Gretchen Walsh won the gold medal after leaving behind the Australian and Chinese squads.
After securing a medal in the mixed team event, Brady Ellison collected a silver medal in the men's archery individual event. Hunter Armstrong, Caeleb Dressel, Nic Fink, and Ryan Murphy bagged a silver in the men's 4x100m medley relay.
