Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian takes the stage with Gabby Thomas as he shares thoughts on the future of women's sports

Serena Williams's husband, Alexis Ohanian, expressed his thoughts on the future of women's sport as he took the stage at the Tiger 21 conference along with Gabby Thomas. The co-founder of Reddit expressed how he admires athletes as they have to deal with press conferences regardless of their results on the field, be they good or bad.

Gabby Thomas was one of the most prominent athletes who headlined the lineup in the inaugural edition of Alexis Ohanian's all-women track meet, Athlos, held in New York City. Ohanian decided to launch his own track meet to become a part of the change in the women's sports space as well as create a fan-focused event that will appeal to a mass audience ultimately widening the reach of the sport.

The inaugural edition of Athlos was very well received by the audience and the participating athletes, who praised the management for putting together so many different aspects, which was a 'one of its kind,' like the Megan Thee Stallion performance.

As Alexis Ohanian shared the stage with Thomas at the Florida-based press conference, he took to Instagram to share his thoughts and wrote:

"Always a delight sharing stage with @gabbythomas talking@athlos and future women's sports. Why CEOs admire athletes - because they have to deal with press conferences after every day at the office, good or bad."

Alexis Ohanian took to X to express his thoughts after the conclusion of the first edition of Athlos NYC. The American businessman revealed how bringing together some of the fastest athletes in the world was a defining factor for the success of the track meet.

Moreover, the blend of having great performances on the track as well as an entertaining show for the spectators helped him to push the event to a large audience. Moreover, bringing about a change in the payscale by offering a prize purse that was more than the Diamond Leagues gave a boost to the competing athletes as well.

"First of all, the vibes were BIG. Having 29x Olympic medals on the roster sure helps turn out an audience, but track has been on the rise this year, period. These women are finally getting the spotlight they deserve. @Athlos is s all about amplifying that, and it worked!"

Furthermore, Ohanian revealed that he hopes to further support women's sports and continue to push his limits to make track reach a wider audience.
