Simone Biles promotes 'safe space' on her social media platforms amid online negativity

Simone Biles shared a loving message for her fans in a recent social media post and said her platforms were a safe space. The American gymnast is widely regarded as the greatest of all time and continues to inspire the young generation.

Biles took to Threads on Tuesday to share a direct message for her fans and suggested that with negativity increasing over the internet, they could rely on her social platforms for safe space.

"just wanted to let you guys know w/ everything going on that my platforms are a safe space❤‍🩹❤‍🩹," she wrote

Biles is among the most followed Olympians in the world with a massive 12.5 million followers on Instagram, and 2 million on Threads. The seven-time Olympic champion has accounts on TikTok and X as well but is majorly active on the former two.

The 27-year-old is currently on vacation with her husband Jonathan Owens in Switzerland. The couple have been living together in Chicago since November 2024 after months of a long-distance relationship and had been planning for the vacation seemingly for a long time. Revealing her plans last month, Biles told Olympics.com:

"Honestly, just the two of us. Nothing crazy. We're going on vacations next year, so we kind of didn't even do a Christmas this year."

The eleven-time Olympic medalist married Owens following three years of dating in April 2023.

Simone Biles became the oldest gymnast in history to win the all-around Olympic title in 72 years last year, and while she could overtake record holder Maria Gorokhovskaya, who won the gold medal in 1952 at the age of 30, at the 2028 LA Olympics, the American said it would be greedy.

“If you go back, you’ll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that’s also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you’re younger, it’s like, prom, college. Now it’s like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What’s really worth it?," she told Sports Illustrated

The 27-year-old won four medals including three golds at the Paris Olympics, making her the most decorated American Olympic gymnast. With her combined 41 Olympic and World medals, Biles is by far the most decorated and dominant gymnast of all time, and while she is expected to add more World Championships medals in 2025, an appearance at the LA Games seems unlikely.
