"Swimming is more interesting to me"- BTS' Jin reveals his favorite sports after carrying the Olympic torch for Paris Olympics 2024
BTS' Jin, the popular South Korean singer and songwriter, recently revealed his preferred sports ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. He participated as a torchbearer in this edition of the quadrennial games, carrying the Olympic torch at the Louvre Museum section as a South Korean representative.
BTS' Jin is one of the seven members of the popular BTS band, established in 2010. He is renowned for releasing solo tracks, namely Awake, Epiphany, and Moon, with the South Korean band.
After running the torch relay, BTS' Jin was asked if he would watch the rhythmic gymnastics event or the swimming event in an “Would you rather” game (via Paris Olympics 2024 Instagram). Here's what Jin said (translated into English):
“I think I prefer more dynamic and active activities so swimming might be a bit more fun. Of course, I enjoy both, but if I had to choose one, swimming is more interesting to me.”
Furthermore, he revealed his preferred Olympic sport to compete in
“Tennis since it's my hobby,” he said.
Jin was further asked if he would rather visit the Louvre Museum or the Eiffel Tower while on vacation. In response to this, he said:
“I think I will choose the Eiffel Tower. If you are at the top, the view is beautiful.”
BTS' Jin becomes the first Korean artist to carry the Olympic torch
On July 14, which coincided with France's Bastille Day, also known as the national day of France, BTS' Jin made history as the first Korean artist to carry the Olympic torch for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Following carrying the flag, the Korean handle of the Olympics posted a few pictures of Jin from the torch relay ceremony on their X (formerly Twitter) account. The post included a caption that read (translated into English):
“BTS Jin 🇫🇷🔥 brightening the 2024 Paris Olympics. The torch relay, carrying a message of unity and peace, will continue until the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 26.”
As one of 11,000 torchbearers, BTS's Jin helped carry the Olympic flame during the Paris 2024 torch relay leading up to the upcoming opening ceremony.
